Borcescu is interested in creating iconic images, commenting on socio-political issues in Romania and worlwide. The artist mocks, first of all, painting itself, understood as a place to represent the representation-worthy, as a mirror and an ode to the power. The anatomy of power and the structure of the relationship between the personality and its context of development is a constant preoccupation. His sources of inspiration are the popular and urban culture, the kitsch, the propaganda imagery.
Under the pseudonym of Docmarcell he has developed an internet platform with an image archive and texts, concerning the apprehensive vision of humankind in an environement created by itself during the XXth century's science evolution.
